Rita Isabella Reeves

Rita Isabella Reeves passed away peacefully on October 26, 2023, at her home in Yukon, Oklahoma.

She was born on a dairy farm in Lena, Wisconsin on October 18, 1932, to Theodore and Marie Wolfert. While working as a bank clerk in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, Rita met the love of her life, Freddie. They married in her hometown of Lena, and shortly thereafter moved to Oklahoma. They first settled in Tulsa where their son Stephen was born, then moving to Oklahoma City where their son Roy was born. She continued her career as a clerk at First National Bank in downtown Oklahoma City, while her husband Freddie worked for the FAA. After moving to Yukon, she worked as a cook in the St. John Nepomuk Catholic School where her children attended. After their graduation, she moved on to work for Gulfstream until her retirement. Rita loved to travel. She visited Yellow Stone National Park with her father after graduating High School in Lena. She traveled back to Wisconsin on the Santa Fe with her children several times, canoed down the Illinois River in Tahlequah, and fished for walleye in Canton State Park. She's flown with Freddie several times to Las Vegas, New York, and Washington DC. She attended The Grand Ole Opry in Nashville, Tennessee.

Rita is preceded in death by her parents, brothers; Lawrence, Clement, James, and Joseph, sisters; Catherine and Marie, husband Freddie, and son Roy. She is survived by her son Steven and grandson William.

A viewing will be held at Yanda and Son Funeral Home on Monday, November 6, 2023, between the hours of 9:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Tuesday, November 7, 2023, at St. John Nepomuk Catholic Church, where Rita was a faithful parishioner. Interment will follow at Yukon Cemetery.
