Robert DeWayne Cannaday

Robert Dewayne Cannaday, 78, passed away on Thursday, July 2, 2026, in Yukon, Oklahoma. He was born on September 15, 1947, in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, to the late Robert and Ruby (Cluck) Cannaday.

Robert moved to Yukon during junior high school, where he was active in FFA, raising and showing sheep, and played the trombone in the school band. He also enjoyed playing the drums at home and was a talented artist who loved drawing comical characters. He graduated from Yukon High School in 1966.

Following graduation, Robert proudly served in the United States Army from 1967 to 1969 and was stationed in Germany.

After his military service, he began a 34-year career as a forklift driver, working for Love Box Company and Pratt's.

He is survived by his sister, Deborah McCoy; his brothers, Jim Cannaday and Kerry Cannaday; and many nieces and nephews.

Robert had a tremendous love for dogs, therefore the family requests that memorial donations be made to the animal rescue organization of your choice.
