Robert Leroy Griffin

Robert L. Griffin, a longtime resident of Yukon, Oklahoma, passed away on August 1, 2026, leaving behind a legacy of service, artistry, and deep devotion to his family and community.

Born on January 23, 1938 to the late Alva and May Griffin of Yukon, Robert grew up with a strong sense of duty and pride in his hometown. He answered the call to serve his country and served honorably in the United States Navy. Following his military service, Robert earned his degree from the University of Oklahoma and remained a proud Sooner throughout his life.

Robert was deeply invested in preserving local history and serving his community. He dedicated many years as a valued board member of Frisco Cemetery, where his commitment and service were greatly appreciated.

Outside of his community work, Robert had a keen eye for beauty and history. He was an avid collector of arrowheads and spent countless hours appreciating the stories and history they represented. He was also a talented artisan who created beautiful stained glass artwork. His creations will remain cherished keepsakes for his family for generations to come.

Above all, Robert was a devoted family man. He shared a wonderful life filled with love and companionship with his beloved wife, Wauhilla Griffin.

Robert is survived by his sons, Robert Griffin and his wife, Robin, and John Griffin and his wife, Cheryl; seven loving grandchildren; one cherished great-grandchild; as well as extended family, dear friends, and neighbors who will miss him dearly.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Wauhilla Griffin, and parents, Alva and May Griffin.

A graveside service will be held on Saturday, September 26, at 10:00 a.m. at Frisco Cemetery in Yukon, Oklahoma.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Robert's honor to the Yukon Food Bank.
