Robert Leon Sexton

Robert Leon Sexton, aged 84, of Piedmont, Oklahoma, passed away on February 25, 2025, in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma. Born on November 19, 1940, Robert grew up with a strong work ethic and a deep sense of service to others. In 1961, he joined the United States Air Force, where he served with honor and distinction until 1965. Following his active duty, Robert continued to serve in the Air Force Reserve from 1965 to 1967.

After his military service, Robert transitioned to a career as a Diesel Mechanic, working diligently to improve his skills and expand his knowledge. He worked his way up from a maintenance technician to the position of fleet manager for a major transportation company. His mechanical talents extended beyond the workplace, as he used his skills to help friends, coworkers, and neighbors, always willing to lend a hand whenever there was a need.

Robert is preceded in death by his beloved sister Christine Freeman, his mother Lucy Taylor, and his brothers James and Maurice Sexton. He leaves behind his loving wife, Alene Sexton, and his children: daughter Cynthia Griffin (Craig) and son Kenneth Sexton (Tonia). He is also survived by his cherished grandchildren: Katherine, Jesse, Tara, Clayton, and Luke, as well as his sister Darlene Stanaland.

A visitation will be held from 9:00 A.M. to 12:00 P.M., Friday, February 28, 2025 at Yanda & Son Funeral Home in Yukon, Oklahoma, followed by a graveside service at 2:00 P.M. at Kansas Cemetery in Piedmont, Oklahoma. A full obituary will be posted once available.
