Rosalie Elizabeth Mclaren

Rosalie Elizabeth McLaren, age 92, passed away on May 12, 2024. She was born on August 4, 1931, on the family farm southwest of El Reno. She was one of four children born to Bill and Libby Husmann.

Rosalie attended Lovely Valley School up until the 8th grade, and then attended Sacred Heart High School through her graduation. She was hired by Southwestern Bell Telephone Company and retired at the age of 55. For the next 37 years, she enjoyed raising cattle on her farm west of El Reno, as well as caring for her menagerie of pets including chickens, goats, donkeys, dogs, cats and horses.

Rosalie was preceded in death by her daughter Susan Ann McLaren; both parents; and two brothers Clyde Eugene and William Joseph. She is survived by her daughters Diane Shivers, Becky Brown (Paul), and Lorri Davis; grandchildren Shelby Shivers (Sayyada), Ryan McLaren, Wes Shivers (Shaya), Meghann Wilson (Andy), Matthew Melvin (Sha), Michael Melvin (Olivia), Jay Shivers (Sara), and Alex Jeffrey (Chase); 13 great-grandchildren, 3 great-great grandchildren; and her brother Paul.

A Graveside Service will be held at El Reno Cemetery on Saturday, June 1, 2024, at 10:00 A.M. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to St. Katherine Drexel Retirement Center in El Reno or the Macular Degeneration Association (MDA).
