Ruth Elizabeth Acre

Ruth Elizabeth (Sokolosky) Acre, 87 passed from this life on December 21, 2025 in Oklahoma City Oklahoma. She was born in Yukon Oklahoma on November 13, 1938 to the late Josephine Botch and George Sokolosky. She was the youngest of eight children.

She was affectionately known as peachy because of her peachy cheeks as a baby. Ruth was a lifelong resident of Yukon Oklahoma. She attended Yukon Public schools and St. John Nepomuk Catholic Church. She graduated from Yukon high school in 1956 where she was a cheerleader and a basketball player. She was homecoming queen and a proud member of the FHA. After graduating high school Ruth attended Central State University. Ruth worked at Yukon National Bank before taking a job at Allen Merrill Chevrolet, where she met her husband Howard (Rusty) Acre who passed from this life in 2008. They  had one daughter, Martha. Ruth was a loving mother. She enjoyed spending time with her family. She enjoyed volunteering at Myers elementary where Martha attended school and camping with the Girl Scouts. Ruth became a grandmother in 1998. She took great joy in taking care of her grandchildren. She treasured every moment shared with them. They were the light of her life. Ruth moved to Gran Gran's Place in Yukon Oklahoma in 2022. She spent her time playing bingo and dominoes and making many new friends whom she considered family. Ruth was well cared for and greatly loved by her Gran Gran's family. Ruth brought a smile to all she met. We will cherish the time we had with her. She will be greatly missed.

Ruth was preceded in death by her parents and all seven of her siblings as well as her husband Rusty and her grandson Jadon.

She is survived by her daughter Martha Conger and Justin Anderson; granddaughter Elizabeth Dehart and husband Laken of Yukon, OK with a future great grandson arriving in May, as well as many nieces and nephews.

Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:30 a.m., Friday, January 2, 2026 at St. John Nepomuk Catholic Church, with inurnment following at the Yukon Cemetery, Yukon, OK.
