Ruth Arleen (Crump) Trammel went to her long-awaited home in Heaven on October 1, 2026.
Born on August 20, 1929, she was the eldest daughter of Roy and Opal (Creson) Crump. They lived in Lancaster, Missouri, where she attended school until her junior year. She then moved to Unionville, Missouri, where she graduated from high school. During her senior year, she enjoyed acting in plays, became a very good basketball player, and worked at the movie theater.
It was at the movie theater where she met the love of her life, Paul E. Trammel. They were married in February 1948. They worked the farm for a couple of years, where Ruth enjoyed helping and feeding the farmhands. They then moved to Moline, Illinois, where they lived until 1997, before moving to their final home in Yukon, Oklahoma.
Throughout those years, Ruth enjoyed being a homemaker and taking care of her two daughters, Debbie and Vickie. She also enjoyed working in various school cafeterias, preparing lunches for children.
After she retired, she continued taking care of her grandchildren while their parents worked. Making sure her family was taken care of was her main goal, from infancy through adulthood.
One of Ruth and her husband's greatest accomplishments was making sure God was at the center of their lives. They were very active in the Church of Christ and especially enjoyed working with the youth. Ruth supported her husband, Paul, in all of his church activities—teaching Bible classes, traveling to various churches for Paul to preach, hosting meals in their home, and spreading God's Word whenever the opportunity arose. Through their ministry, Ruth and Paul made sure their encouragement and witness helped prepare others' lives for the hereafter.
Ruth was blessed with 71 years with her husband before his passing in November 2020. She was also preceded in death by her parents, Roy and Opal Crump; brother, Billy Crump; sister, Betty Hearn; and grandson, Dustin P. Nichols.
She is survived by her daughters, Deborah Nichols and Vickie Baumwart and her husband, Gary; sister, Shirley Johnson; three grandchildren: Amy Kantsperger and her husband, Erich; Cody Nichols and his wife, Jennifer; and Jenni Reuter and her husband, Kyle.
Additional survivors include eight great-grandchildren: Austin Cockrum and his wife, Ashlynne; Mikayla Jennings and her husband, Brandon; Dustin Nichols and his wife, Aurora; Grayson Reuter and his wife, Sydnee; Peyton Reuter; Arianna, Kylee, and E.J. Kantsperger; and great-great-grandson, Ryker; as well as several nieces and nephews, and grandson-in-law, Delacy Roach.
The family has been blessed in more ways than we can express by having Mom and MiMi in our lives. She is now in her forever home in Heaven.
Services are pending in Moline, Illinois.
