Sandra Lynette Hert

Sandy Lynnette "Tyree" Hert was born on January 13th, 1946 in Tulsa, Oklahoma and passed away on May 17th, 2025 in Oklahoma City, OK.

Sandy grew up in Tulsa and went to Nathan Hale High School.  She loved ice skating and as a teenager she was invited to tour with the Ice Capades, but her mother regretfully declined the offer.  When not enjoying time with friends and family, Sandy learned to cut hair on her own.  Friends and neighbors would always be in the kitchen receiving one of Sandy's cuts.  She finally made a career of cutting hair when she graduated from Broken Arrow Beauty College in the early 1990's.  She worked at numerous salons throughout her career in Tulsa, Broken Arrow, and Bixby, Oklahoma.  Sandy also enjoyed raising her children Brett and Shawn.  She loved them very much and did all she could to provide for both boys.  One of Shawn's fondest memories is spending time with her and the rest of the family at Lake Keystone every summer.  Everyone was allowed to fish in the morning, but in the afternoon, it was Sandy's time to sunbathe and work on her tan either in the boat or on a raft floating on the lake.  She really enjoyed lake-time with her sister Sharon Scott, brother-in-law Gil, and their daughters Sheli and Sheri.  Sandy also took pride in the scrapbook her sister Tami Slish put together for her.  Sandy also enjoyed interior decorating, dancing and music. You could regularly find her Friday night at the Elephant Run club in Tulsa, Oklahoma, working on her two-step, West coast swing, and waltz techniques.  She enjoyed life, people, animals, and her plants.

Sandra Lynnette Hert was preceded in death by her son Brett Burcham, brothers Sam Tyree and Mike Bertie, sister Suzanne Black, parents Fred Tyree and Maxine "Mickey" Bertie, grandparents Clifford and Mamie Vassar, Uncle Bobby Joe "Bob" Vassar, brother-in-law Gil Scott and brother-in-law John Slish.  Survivors include son Shawn Burcham and his husband Keith Branscum, sister Sharon Scott, niece Sheli Scott, niece Sheri Varner, sister Tami Slish, niece Amanda Newcomb and nephew John Slish Jr., sister Sue Boggs, brother Jonathan Mark, along with additional nieces, nephews and great nieces and nephews.
