Scott Lionel Ehreke

Scott Ehreke was born in Corpus Christi, Texas, a proud Navy brat, and later grew up in Pasadena, Maryland, where he met the love of his life, Susan. They shared 57 devoted years of marriage and built a family rooted in love, laughter, and loyalty.

Scott attended the University of Maryland, College Park, and remained a lifelong Terps fan—especially when it came to Maryland Lacrosse. He also proudly supported the Washington Redskins and had a legendary fondness for duct tape (those who knew him best know exactly why). A kid at heart, Scott loved to laugh, play soccer and lacrosse, and pull the occasional practical joke. While not known for being the quietest spectator, he took great joy in watching his daughters compete in sports and cheering them on in his own unforgettable way.

Scott was preceded in death by his father, Gustave William Richard Ehreke, Jr.; his stepfather, Thomas Spence Smith; and his mother, Virginia "Ginny" Ehreke Smith (née Schmidt).

He is survived by his devoted wife, Susan Ehreke; his daughters, Kimberly Hulett (Mike) of Lady Lake, Florida, and Kelly Beninghove of Baldwin, Maryland; and his cherished granddaughters, Soleil and Leila Beninghove. He is also survived by his sister, Pamela Mayberry (Wade) of Annapolis, Maryland.

A private ceremony will be held by the immediate family.

Scott will be remembered for his playful spirit, deep devotion to his family, and the joy he brought to everyone who knew him.
