Scott Ray Nobles

Scott Ray Nobles passed peacefully from this life on August 29, 2026, after a courageous journey with cancer. Throughout the many challenges he faced in life, Scott remained resilient and held firmly to his faith. He will be deeply missed.

Scott was born September 7, 1962, in Ada, Oklahoma, the son of the Rev. Don and Fran Nobles. Growing up as a minister’s son, he was active in New Life United Methodist Church in Moore, Oklahoma, and later First United Methodist Church in Edmond.

Scott graduated from Edmond Memorial High School in 1981 and went on to graduate from Bethany Nazarene College, now Southern Nazarene University. His work included flower delivery, public school bus driving, and social work for the State of Oklahoma.

Music was an important part of Scott’s life. He learned to play the piano and guitar by ear and was blessed with a beautiful singing voice. His rendition of “O Holy Night” on Christmas Eve remains a favorite family memory.

One of Scott’s favorite memories recently was going to a Thunder game with his brother and friends.

Scott was preceded in death by his parents, Don and Fran Nobles. He is survived by his brother, Kent King-Nobles and his wife, Kathy, of Normal, Illinois; his nephews, Haven and Josh; his niece, Emily; and many other loving relatives and friends. His cousin Danny White offered Scott extraordinary support during the final years of his life.

A simple graveside service will be held at Oaklawn Cemetery in Sulphur, Oklahoma, on Labor Day, Monday, September 7. The service will take place on what would have been Scott’s 64th birthday. A dinner and celebration of Scott’s life will be held during the week following Christmas, with details to be announced.
