Scott Brian Petersen

Scott Brian Petersen, 73, passed away on Thursday, March 6, 2025, in Oklahoma City, OK. He was born on April 26, 1951, in Almont, MI. Scott moved to Oklahoma at the age of ten. He attended Carl Albert High School, and then moved on to college at Northeast Oklahoma A&M in Miami, Oklahoma. Scott married in 1970 and had two sons, Presten in 1972, and Chad in 1974. He worked at Airborne Express and became the contract owner for the Oklahoma City area (P&L Cartridge). This is how he met Linda Moen, who had a 7-year-old-son, Jason. Scott and Linda were married on Febuary 17, 1979. They had their daughter, Ivory, in 1982. Scott and Linda raised a "yours, mine, and ours" family for the next 19 years until they tragically lost Linda in 1998. During his grieving, Scott confided in his longtime friend Sharon, who was also grieving the loss her spouse. Eventually, they started a new relationship, and the family of today was born. In May of 2000, Scott and Sharon married. Together, they created a large blended family consisting of 19 grandchildren and 2 great grandchildren, who were the joy of Scott's life. Scott and Sharon purchased a 10-acre ranch in Mustang, Oklahoma in 2010, which they named Rancho Del Burro Loco. They created a beautiful vineyard and started a dog boarding business, which kept Scott outside living the active lifestyle he loved. Some of Scott's favorite hobbies included boating, fishing, traveling, and most of all, spending time with his family. Scott was ornery, humorous, consistent, and loyal. Scott and Sharon have attended Life Church since early 2000's. Scott expressed in his final days that next to being "Opa", one of his greatest accomplishments was his advancement in his faith with Christ.

Scott is preceded in death by parents Edward and Margaret Petersen; late wife Linda; and granddaughter Molly. He is survived by wife Sharon; children Kelsy and Greg Roberts of Edmond, Dack and Selena Thomas of Colordo, Jason and Regan Moen of Mustang, Presten and Casey Petersen of Midwest City, Chad and Cozzette Petersen of Los Angeles, and Ivory and Josh Wood of Mustang; 19 grandchildren; Austin and Maggie, Gracen and Ethan, Lauren and Kohl, Abby and Jordan, Riley, Casten, Brogan, Eve, Daschel, Porter, Willow, River, Indie, Aero, and Vivian; 2 great-grandchildren Honey & Rock, and brothers, Mike Petersen and wife Paula and Jon Petersen.

A Celebration of Life will be held at Life.Church in Mustang on Monday, March 10, 2025, at 2:00 p.m.
