Sharon "Sissy" Lee Hicks Barker

Sharon "Sissy" Lee Hicks Barker, 69, was born on May 23, 1954, in Dumas, Texas. She entered into rest on January 15, 2024. She was the second child born to Leonard and LaVera Hicks. After growing up in Yukon for most of her life, Sharon met the love of her life, Jack Barker. The two were soon married in July of 1975, thus beginning her life as a military wife. Once Sharon and Jack were married, they traveled many places over the course of three years, which included Germany and Colorado. These travels had the couple eager to return home to Yukon. Sharon had assumed many roles in the work force over the years, including managing in the St. John's Kitchen, teaching HeadStart in Yukon, a cashier at Walmart, and an office clerk for the State of Oklahoma. Over the course of her life, she has made many wonderful friends.

In January of 1997, she was blessed with her first and only child that she had dreamt of, Jared Barker. Sharon spent many years praying for him, and he was the highlight of her life.

Sharon loved attending CCY. She really enjoyed volunteering in the after-school program "The Dugout" with her best friend, Debbie Casteka. She attended CCY when her health would allow, and she tried her best to keep in touch with members of the church. She was loved by many and will be remembered for her smile.

Sharon was preceded in death by her father Leonard Hicks, Sr. and mother LaVera Nelson Hicks.

She is survived by her husband of 48 years Jack Barker, Jr.; son Jared Barker; brother Leonard Hicks, Jr.; sister Kim Hicks Monger and husband Tony; brother-in-law Bob Barker and wife Gail,; brother-in-law Larry Barker; brother-in-law Jerry Barker and wife Keri; sister-in-law Jan Keeter, as well as many nieces and nephews.

Funeral Services will be held at the Yanda and Son Funeral Home Chapel on Wednesday, January 24, 2024, at 10:00 a.m. Interment will follow at Yukon Cemetery.
