Sharon Lynn Walls

Sharon Lynn Walls, nee Cleveland, known affectionately as "Tiger" passed away peacefully in her sleep on September 16, 2024, at the age of 76 in Kingfisher, OK.  Sharon was born to Harlan and Ruth Cleveland on January 13, 1948, in Marietta, Ohio.  Her father reenlisted in the military which is how she found herself home in numerous locations throughout the United States including Del City, Oklahoma, where she graduated from Del City High School.   She then moved to Okinawa, Japan, where she soon met the love of her life.

Sharon is preceded in death by her parents, Harlan "Jack" and Ruth; her sister, Harla Ann Hale; and son-in-law, Richard DesVoignes.

She is survived by her devoted husband of 58 years, Harold "Hal"; her children, Janine DesVoignes of Bellevue, MI; Tami and husband Jeff Mosier, of Yukon, Oklahoma and David and wife Cristol Walls also of Yukon, Oklahoma; her brother, Steve and wife LeeAnn Cleveland and sister, Sara and husband Tom Podwika; her cherished grandchildren, Kayla, Marisa, Daniel, Faith, Tessa, Noah and Alex; and her great-grandchildren, LJ, Gus, Charlotte, Allie, Jack and Jackson.  She also leaves behind many beloved nieces, nephews and countless dear friends.

Sharon and Hal began their journey together in Okinawa, Japan. They traveled to many locations across the U.S. before settling in Yukon, Oklahoma, where Sharon lived for many years. After a distinguished 24-year career with the U.S. Postal Service, she retired transitioned to a roll in service of youth.  She loved overseeing In School Suspension at Mustang North Middle School where she worked for seven years.  A dedicated member of the Good Shepherd United Methodist Church, Sharon's faith and fellowship were central to her life. She approached life with a vibrant spirit, a loving heart, and an infectious laugh.

Sharon's passion for quilting shone through in her meticulous handiwork and creative designs. Her talent earned her ribbons at the Canadian County Fair, a testament to her dedication and skill. She also delighted in playing Bunco and Hand & Foot with friends and was proudly known as the Queen Mum of her Red Hat group, where her lively personality and sense of humor were sources of joy.

Services will be held at United Methodist Church of the Good Shepherd, 10928 SW 15th Str. Yukon, OK 73099 on Monday September 23 at 11:00 am., with interment following at the Yukon Cemetery. Viewing will be held at Yanda & Son Funeral Home, 1500 Vandament Ave, Yukon OK 73099,  on Sunday, September 22 from 2-6 pm.
