Shawn B. Thompson

Shawn B. Thompson, 55, of Piedmont, OK, went to be with our Lord & Savior Jesus Christ February 9, 2023.

He was born in a small hospital in El Reno, OK, on November 18, 1967 to Shirlie Thompson. He attended Yukon High School, and furthered his education at OU, where he played in THE PRIDE drum corp. Shawn married Beth Red on February 18, 1994. He was a journeyman electrician, electrical estimator, and electrical theory teacher. He recently began working for the city of Oklahoma City as an Electrical Inspector.

Through the years Shawn enjoyed Nitro remote boat racing, Mountain biking, Bowling, Cowboy Action Shooting, and Photography. He enjoyed teaching Defensive Shooting classes; however, his passion was coaching his Olympic recurve archery students and GPAC (Great Plains Archery) team. He was certified as a level 4 coach by Olympic archery coach, Kisek Lee. He served as head coach for USA Archery's Regional Elite (Red) Team in 2022.

Above all else Shawn was a devoted Christian.

He is survived by; his mother, Shirlie Thompson; wife, Beth Thompson; daughters, Courtney and Emily Thompson; brother, Sheldon Thompson; nephew, Zaid Thompson; niece, Kylan Thompson, and grandmother, Francis Mays.

Viewing will be held from 2:00 p.m. – 6:00 p.m., Monday, February 13, 2023 at the funeral home. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m., Tuesday, February 14, 2023 at Town & Country Christian Church, Yukon, OK, with interment following at the Yukon Cemetery, Yukon, OK.
