Shirley V. Smith

Shirley V. Smith, aged 76, was born and raised in Oklahoma City. She was a loving mother to her two children, Monique and Stephen, a doting grandmother to her three grandchildren, Alexis, Mason, and Paige, who affectionately knew her as Mimi Shirley. Shirley was also a cherished mother-in-law to Savannah and Kirk, a beloved sister to her brother Gary, a dear sister-in-law to Carolyn, a wonderful Aunt to her nieces Jennifer and Brandi, and was preceded in death by her parents, Jeff and Clella Guthery.

Shirley dedicated nearly 40 years of her life to the Oklahoma State Bureau of Investigation (OSBI) as an accomplished administrative assistant. Her dedication and hard work were evident in everything she did, but nothing made her prouder than her children. She sacrificed everything to ensure they had the best opportunities in life.

She was beloved by all of her children's friends and left a lasting impression on everyone who crossed her path. Shirley's home on 55th Street was a sanctuary for many, always welcoming and impeccably clean—a testament to her meticulous nature.

Shirley had a penchant for Braum's and always kept their chocolate chip cookies in her beloved kitten cookie jar. Her creative talents shone through in the beautiful floral arrangements and Christmas wreaths she made with love.

Shirley was known for her beauty and style. She never dressed down, always taking pride in her appearance and setting an example of grace and elegance. Her smile and wink were infectious and will remain forever in the hearts of those who knew her.

She was a devoted fan of the Oklahoma Sooners and the Oklahoma City Thunder, cheering them on with unwavering support and enthusiasm.

Viewing will be held on Sunday, February 2nd, from 2 PM to 6 PM at Yanda & Son Funeral Home in Yukon, Oklahoma. Funeral services will be on Monday, February 3rd, at 11 AM, with a viewing prior, at Yanda & Son Funeral Home. Graveside service will follow at 1 PM at Rose Hill Burial Park in Oklahoma City.

Shirley's legacy of love, kindness, and elegance will live on through the many lives she touched. She will be deeply missed and fondly remembered by all who had the privilege of knowing her.
