Stanley Raymond Slaven

Stanley Raymond "Stan" Slaven, 82, of Oklahoma City, OK, passed away on Tuesday, November 25, 2025. He was born on March 3, 1943, in Garden City, KS, to Winfield and Thelma (Day) Slaven.

Stan grew up on his parents' farm near Coolidge, KS, and graduated from Coolidge High School in 1961. He attended Friends Bible College and later earned a Bachelor of Science in Education (BSE) degree from Emporia State University. He went on to obtain a Master's degree in Education Administration from Fort Hays State University.

Stan dedicated 38 years to the field of education, teaching and coaching for 12 years at various high schools in Kansas. He then moved into school administration, serving as the high school principal in Satanta and Belle Plaine, KS, before becoming the Superintendent of Schools in Tribune, KS, from where he retired.

Stan had a passion for sports and motorcycling. He was an active member of the Christian Motorcyclists Association for over 40 years. He and his wife, Clarice, traveled to over 30 states and parts of Canada, enjoying motorcycle tours and attending rallies. A committed Christian, Stan was an active member of his church, serving in various roles, including as a board member and Sunday School teacher.

Stan is survived by his wife, Clarice; two sons, Sterling (Tina) and Shannon (Amy); six grandchildren, Savannah (Zach), Sawyer, Summer, Sadie, Andrew, and Jillian; and three great-grandchildren. He is also survived by his siblings, Roger Slaven (Doris) and Rosetta Troyer (Stan).

A viewing will be held from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. on Tuesday, December 2, 2025, at Yanda & Son Funeral Home in Yukon, OK, with private graveside services to follow at the Yukon Cemetery.
