Steven James Wood

Steven James Wood, 69, of Yukon, Oklahoma passed away peacefully on Tuesday, December 5, 2023 at Integris Canadian Valley Hospital. He was born on December 14, 1953.

He graduated from Yukon High School in 1972, where he excelled in many sports including Football and Track.  He then went on to Oklahoma State University to further his academic studies. While at OSU, Steve met Randy Badger and together they created Celestial Builders and built many homes in Norman, Yukon, and the surrounding areas. Steve was named the President of the Central Oklahoma Home Builders Association in 2002. Years later Steve created Steve Wood Custom Homes and continued his passion for home building.  One of Steve's greatest pleasures was fishing and one of his last wishes was to get well enough to get back out there one more time.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Leonard O. Wood and Juanita Wood Edgmon, both of Yukon.  He is survived by his brother, Bob, along with many aunts, uncles, cousins, and many lifelong friends.

A memorial service will be held at 2:00 p.m., Friday, December 15, 2023 at the Yanda & Son Funeral Home Chapel, Yukon, OK.
