Sue Russell

Sue Russell, 84, passed from this life on Friday, May 12, 2023, at her home in Yukon, OK. She was born October 19, 1938, on her family's farm near Meridian, OK. She graduated from Guthrie High School and started a career as a bank teller for Guthrie National Bank. Sue met Buzzy Russell through Young Christian Workers and married in 1963 in Guthrie, OK. Moving to Yukon in 1965, Sue and Buzzy were married for over 56 years.

Sue was active in 4-H and other social clubs throughout high school. Sue took breaks from her banking career to start a family and enjoyed spending time outdoors working in the yard. Sue was committed to her faith and enjoyed church activities, including the altar society and church choir.

Sue was preceded in death by her husband, Harry "Buzzy" Russell; mother, Dorothy Kendall ; father, Tom Kendall ; sister , Millie (Jerry) Schoelen ; sister, Doris (Frank) O'Brien ; and grandson, Landon Burger. Su e is survived by her sister Kay (Frances) Decker; Steven (Jennifer) Russell; daughter, Susan (Andy) Curby ; son, Scott Russell; and daughter, Stacey (Kenny) Sims; grandkids: Tiffany Atkinson , Jessica (Tanner) Manning , Taylor (Andrew) Squires, Tylor (Connor) Bauman , Dylan Russell; several great grandkids; and many nieces and nephews. Memorial donations may be made to the Alzheimer's Association.

A viewing will be held 11 am – 6:45 pm, T hursday, May 18 , with Wake Services to follow at 7 pm, at the Yanda & Son Funeral Home Chapel. Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 1 1 a m, Friday, May 1 9 , at St. John Nepomuk Catholic Church, Yukon, with interment following at the Yukon Cemetery.
