Susan Joyce Rains

Susan Joyce Rains, 71, of Yukon, OK, went to be with the Lord on April 9th, 2025. She was born in Oklahoma City to Howard and Lora Lingerfelt on November 6, 1953. Susie graduated from Northwest Classen High School in May of 1972. In July of 1972, she married her high school sweetheart, the love of her life and true best friend, Stanley Rains.

Susie was a mother and grandmother who loved her children and grandchildren wholeheartedly. She was a cherished member of her church and could often be found worshiping and praising the Lord through song. Susie loved to travel and enjoyed seeing the beauty of God's creations, both in sunsets and in the National Parks. She also loved to sit on the beach, watch the waves and collect seashells. Most of all, she enjoyed sitting on her front porch spending time with her husband and being surrounded by her family.

Susie is survived by her loving husband of 53 years, Mr. Stanley Rains; her children: daughter Staci and husband Kyle Scarberry, son Sean Rains and wife Rhiannon Rains, and son-in-law Shane Travis; grandchildren: Trinity and husband Aaron Sailer, Logan and wife Johanna Travis, Kenton Travis, Libby Travis, Davenee and husband Braiden Bray, Kyleeci Scarberry, Kaden Scarberry, Ruger Rains and Sauyer Rains. She is also survived by her father Howard Lingerfelt; brother Howard Lingerfelt, Jr.; sisters Linda Nunn, Bonnie Jones, and Gloria Evans. She is preceded in death by her daughter Lori Travis and mother Lora Lingerfelt.

Susie Rains' life is a testament to the love and strength that can be found in family.  She will always be remembered by her Sunday dinners, Christmas ginger cookies and time spent at the family farm.

A celebration of life will be held at Discovery Church in Yukon, OK, on Saturday, May 31, 2025, at 1:00 p.m.
