Tamar Graham Scott

Tamar Graham Scott passed away on March 21, 2004 at the age of 66. Tamar was a proud Oklahoman born on April 11, 1957, the only child of Robert and Vida Graham. She graduated from Western Heights High School and got her Bachelors from the University of Oklahoma in Psychology and Philosophy in 1979. She got her Juris Doctor from the University of Oklahoma in 1983 and shortly after worked for the District Attorney of Pottawatomie County, then moved to the Oklahoma Department of Transportation to eventually become Deputy General Counsel for the department. She married Ricky Dean Scott in 1976 and lived in Oklahoma City and then Yukon as their final residence.

She was raised in Oklahoma City with two parents as teachers, instilling her want for knowledge. Her mother Vida was an adamant teacher and a strong follower of the churches of Christ. This was adopted by Tamar who became a devout follower of Christ as well and sought to learn as much as she could. She did many things in her life; from becoming a pilot, going to law school while pregnant, being a proponent of equal rights, and loving mother and wife. Tamar was known for her strong will and stubbornness. These attributes made her a protective mother that sought the best for her kids. Her character gave her the means to do all the amazing work for her community in Yukon and Oklahoma. She will fondly be remembered by her family and friends, in whom she has instilled her work ethic and attributes. She was all the makings of a strong woman.

She leaves behind her husband, Ricky, and her four kids; Jaala, Robert, Rachel, and Nash Scott.

Viewing will be at Yanda and Son Funeral Home on Wednesday, April 3, 2024, from 10:00 A.M. - 6:00 P.M. Funeral Services will be held at the Yanda and Son Funeral Home Chapel on Thursday, April 4, 2024, at 1:00 P.M. Interment will follow at 3:00 p.m., at Greenwood Cemetery, Weatherford, OK.
