Terry Robert Davis

Terry Robert Davis passed away on Saturday, April 19, 2025 in Oklahoma City, OK. He was born on August 21, 1945 in Lyons, Kansas to Dale Robert and Marion Beth (O'Neill) Davis. Terry graduated from Lyons High School with the class of 1964, and then attended college at Pittsburgh State University, Pittsburgh, KS.

In the summer of 1966, he was drafted into the United States Army. While serving in Vietnam, Terry attained the rank of platoon sergeant. His unit was based near Chu Lia, South Vietnam along the DMZ during the Tet Offensive January 1968. After returning to United States Terry attended Emporia State University.

On New Year's Eve 1970 he met the love of his life Deborah Martin. They were married on June 13, 1971 and together they created a wonderful family. Terry was a very versatile man and enjoyed many careers over his lifespan, including being a butcher, an oilfield worker, mechanic, and his favorite heavy equipment operator. Terry enjoyed the outdoors, took great pride in his vegetable gardens, and loved cooking for and camping with his family and friends.

Terry was preceded in death by his mother and father and his brother Robyn. Left to remember and celebrate his life and legacy are his wife Deborah of Oklahoma City; son, Daric and wife, Jackie of Yukon, OK; daughter, Kasey, and husband, Todd Keeny of Yukon, OK; eight grandchildren:  Jarod Davis and Bailey of Owosso, OK, Aric Davis and Desni of Weatherford, OK, Chesney, Lukes and Austin of Yukon, OK, Emily, Boevers and Luke of Yukon, OK, Kyle Johnson and Lexi of Clay Center, KS, Abigail Key and Kaleb of Yukon, OK, and Devin Keeny and Christian Keeny of Yukon, OK., as well as five great grandchildren:  Roslyn Davis, Carter Davis, Everett and Cooper Lukes and Elliott Key.

Wake service will be held from 5:00 p.m. – 9:00 p.m., Friday, April 25, 2025 at the Celebration Center, 1145 E. US Hwy 56, Lyons, KS. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m., Saturday, April 26 at First United Methodist Church, 101 S. Pioneer Ave., Lyons, KS, with interment following at Lyons Municipal Cemetery, Lyons, KS.
