Thelma Lois Sellick

Thelma Lois Sellick passed away peacefully surrounded by family on May 2, 2024, in Yukon, Oklahoma. She was born on January 15, 1944, in Weatherford, Oklahoma, to Arlis E. Goodman and Pearl Fay Goodman.

Thelma was one of seven daughters who grew up working on their farm in Lookeba, Oklahoma. She attended Lookeba-Sickles Public Schools and went on to Southwestern State College where she earned her bachelors in elementary education. She was a long-time 2nd and 3rd grade teacher with Yukon Public Schools, where she was known as Mrs. Gragg and Mrs. Sellick. Thelma was known for the love of her students, and she was proud to say she was Shedeck Elementary's 1996-1997 Teacher of the Year.

Thelma had a wonderful life on Park Drive with her two boys, and met many people that became her dearest friends. She loved her summers by the pool and working in her flower garden. She was an avid reader and would read up to ten true crime books a week. She enjoyed traveling the world in her retirement, and her beloved cat Missy. You could always find her at her breakfast table doing her crossword puzzle every morning, enjoying her coffee with her signature polished red nails. But what Thelma was most proud of was her five grandchildren. She loved having them over for slumber parties, swimming in her pool, shopping, trips to Arizona, and cheering them on at their sporting events.

Thelma is preceded in death by her parents and five of her most precious sisters. She is survived by her baby sister Ann Crutcher and husband Dwain of Ft. Worth, Texas; oldest son Tommy Duncan and wife Julie of Yukon, Oklahoma; son Brian Gragg and wife Courtney of Casa Grande, Arizona; grandchildren Randi Wilkowske and husband Matt, Corey Duncan, Carri Wildman and husband Colten, Tarynn Waters and husband Ret, and Cooper Gragg; great-grandchildren Gunnar, Molly, and Riley Wilkowske; along with many nieces and nephews.

Thelma cherished her family and their memories together.

A Celebration of Life will be held at Czech Hall on May 11, 2024, from 11:00 - 2:00 P.M.
