Virginia Lou Phelps

Virginia Phelps, who made her home in Yukon, Oklahoma, was born in Tuscola, Kentucky on August 20, 1933, the daughter of Jennings Brian Jordan and June Olive Adkins, who preceded her in death. She died peacefully in her sleep on June 6, 2025. Virginia was born and raised in Eastern Kentucky during the Great Depression and World War II. Later in life, she moved to Nashville, Tennessee, where she worked for 40 years at Baptist Hospital in telecommunications. Her real interests were her grandchildren, her many dogs and cats, cooking, candy-making, crocheting and reading. She is survived by a sister, Sue Litton of Little Cat, Kentucky; two children, Major Donald W. Perry of Crestview, Florida; and June Perry Page of Yukon, OK. Two sons preceded her in death: James Herbert Perry of Nashville, Tennessee; and Jeffrey Brian Perry of Tacoma, Washington. She also leaves 12 grandchildren: Leah Denson, Mary Page Bailey, Daniel Randolph Page, James Robert Perry, Jack Ryan Perry, Misty Dawn Perry, Robyn Marie Martin, Donald J. Perry, Sara Candella, Lisa Perry, Meredith M. Kelly and Dr. Madeline Strittmattar, and 17 great-grandchildren.

Virginia's family especially thanks the wonderful staff of River Oaks Skilled Nursing Facility in El Reno for their tireless skill and excellent care. We'd also like to thank the staff at St. Anthony's Hospital for their care and compassion during Virginia's illness. In lieu of flowers, friends may make donations to:
