William Donivan "Bill" Thorp

William Donivan "Bill" Thorp, 72, of his lifelong home of Yukon, Oklahoma, began his eternal treasure hunt on November 21, 2023. Bill was born on October 10, 1951, to William and Ruth Thorp. He graduated from Yukon High School and attended Southwestern Oklahoma State University. Bill worked in the oilfield, owned Yukon Army Surplus for 20 years, and became a Histotechnician. Bill's last business was Bill's Place where he made many friends. Bill became interested in treasure hunting and had many adventures pursuing this passion. He had a very adventure filled life and was a master storyteller who would tell stories as long as someone would listen.

He is preceded in death by his parents, William and Ruth Thorp, brother, Tom Thorp, and Uncle, Vernon who inspired his love of aviation. He is survived by his wife Karen Thorp; daughters, Holly Thorp and Christy (Ray) Genzler; grandchildren, Robby and Zoey Genzler; siste, Sandra (Charlie) Vernon, and many nieces, nephews, their children, and many friends.

Visitation will be held at Yanda and Son Funeral Home on Friday, December 1, 2023, from 4:00 p.m. - 6:00 p.m. A Celebration of Life will be held at the Yanda and Son Funeral Home Chapel on Saturday, December 2, 2023, at 2:00 p.m. The family would like for stories and memories to be shared at the celebration of his life on Saturday.
