William "Bill" Edward Stecker

Bill Stecker, age 69, passed away in Oklahoma City on May 16, 2025. He was, as he was in life, surrounded by family and friends. Viewing will be held from 4:00 p.m. - 7:00 p.m., Wednesday, May 21, 2025 at the funeral home. Celebration of life services will be held at 2:00 p.m., Thursday, May 22, at Together We Church, Yukon, OK, with interment following at Frisco Cemetery, Yukon, OK.

William Edward Stecker was born in Oklahoma City on June 12, 1955 to Carlen Stecker Collins and Leger Vernon Stecker. He grew up in Oklahoma City and moved to Blackwell, OK where his parents purchased a grocery store. As a boy, Bill could often be found "helping out" at the grocery store, though truth be told, it may have been his parents' clever way of keeping tabs on his many misadventures. He went to Putnam City High School, where he enjoyed playing football and playing the trombone in the band.

In August of 1973, Bill married Linda McKown, and together they welcomed two children, William Edward Stecker II (Wes) and Darby Brianne Stecker Dobson. Their paths eventually parted, but Bill remained a devoted father, always deeply involved in Wes and Darby's lives.

Years later, Bill met the love of his life, Angie, while he was the assistant manager at a Safeway grocery store. They were married on November 25, 1989, beginning a beautiful journey together filled with deep love and unwavering companionship. From the very start, their bond was extraordinary. Together, they built a joyful life, cherishing time outdoors and creating lasting memories at the lake with Wes and Darby. Bill had a passion for grilling and loved hosting gatherings, always ready to welcome family and friends with warmth and laughter. During football season, he could often be found cheering—sometimes loudly—for his beloved OU Sooners from his favorite spot on the couch.

Bill made a career change and started in the heat and air industry where he spent about 25 years as the service department manager at Hardesty Team Heat and Air.

On May 1, 2002, Bill and Angie joyfully welcomed their daughter, Carlee Renee Stecker, completing their loving family. Being a devoted father was one of Bill's greatest joys and proudest accomplishments. He was always ready to lend a helping hand, offer words of encouragement, or simply bring a smile with his quick wit and sense of humor. His unwavering support and love for his children were a constant source of strength and happiness.

In 2006, Bill and Angie joined Trinity Baptist Church making it their second home. Bill's love for the Lord was at the forefront of his life and affected every decision he made for his family. Bill was a real student of the Bible and greatly enjoyed his men's Bible study and small group time. Bill found great joy in serving others. He especially treasured the time he spent helping teach a class for individuals in recovery at the Grace Rescue Mission and making breakfast for the Coffee Corner on Sunday mornings at church.

Bill is survived by his beloved wife of 36 years, Angie, of Yukon, OK; his daughter Carlee Stecker of Shawnee, OK; his son Wes Stecker and wife Erin Stecker with their children Will Stecker, Jenna Stecker, and Kelsey Stecker, all of Phoenix, AZ; his daughter Darby Dobson husband Lucas with their son Ross, all of Yukon, OK. He is also survived by his brother Larry Stecker of Phoenix, AZ, and his sister Linda Smith of Oklahoma City, OK, as well as numerous in-laws, nieces, nephews, and a host of cherished friends.

He was preceded in death by his father, Leger Stecker; his mother, Carlen Collins; his sister-in-law, Marka Stecker; and his niece, Beth Oakes.
