Donna Yanda has been in the funeral home business for 40 years, starting in 1986 helping future husband Anton V. ("Corky") Yanda, III in Yukon's family owned funeral home.
“Yukon is such a great place to live and have a business," Donna says. "At Yanda & Son Funeral Home, we take pride in providing quality and service to the many families who put their trust in us. We always want to ensure their loved ones are honored and remembered with dignity."
The Yukon Chamber of Commerce named Donna its 2020 "Citizen of the Year" for her many civic contributions, following in Anton's footsteps. He had earned the same prestigious honor in 2004.
“I am just so fortunate and grateful to be part of an outstanding community that has given me and my family so much,” Donna says. Donna is a dedicated supporter of her community and Yukon's school system, especially the FFA and 4-H programs.
Donna married Anton in 1988 and together they owned and operated Yanda & Son Funeral Home. When Anton passed away in 2005, Donna returned to school and in 2010 earned a bachelor's degree in funeral service from the University of Central Oklahoma. Donna grew up in Sentinel, OK and graduated in 1974 from Sentinel High School. At Oklahoma State University, she was a four-year starter and set several records that still stand today in women's basketball. In 1978, she obtained a bachelor's degree in journalism at OSU.
Donna has a true servant’s heart and currently serves as a Trustee on the Spanish Cove Board. She previously served for 10½ years on the Yukon City Council and has also served on the Yukon Economic Development Authority, the Yukon Chamber of Commerce Board, the Yukon Compassionate Hands Board, and the UCO Funeral Advisory Board. Donna is also a member of First Baptist Church of Yukon.

Homer Cobb has enjoyed a 61-year career in the funeral home business.
"I love working here in Yukon with Yanda & Son Funeral Home," Homer says. "I enjoy being around the people of this great community and helping families during a difficult time."
Homer had started in 1965 working at funeral homes in Marlow and Rush Springs before completing his education and earning a funeral director/embalmer license in 1967.
For 37 years, Homer worked at - and later managed - Callaway-Smith-Cobb Funeral Home.
Then in 2003, he joined Yanda & Son Funeral Home in Yukon where he's been ever since.
Homer believes strongly in volunteering in his community. While in Marlow, he was the Chamber of Commerce's Citizen of the Year and member of the Lions Club. Since coming to Yukon 18 years ago, Homer has been a Chamber of Commerce board member, Chamber ambassador and member of the Rotary Club and Compassionate Hands' Board.
Homer was born in east Texas and grew up in Muskogee, OK, graduating high school in 1959. He earned an accounting degree from Oklahoma State University and graduated from the University of Central Oklahoma (then Central State) in 1966 with a funeral service education degree. Homer was a member of the college's first class in that department.
He has three daughters, six grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.

Lance R. Yanda

Son of Donna and the late Anton Yanda III, Lance has been part of Yukon's family owned funeral home his entire life.
A 2011 Yukon High School graduate, Lance is pursuing further education in the funeral service industry. He previously earned degrees in History and University Studies from Oklahoma State University.
Lance enjoys raising cattle at his farm and coaching youth sports.
For the past 20 years, Lance and his mother Donna have presented the Anton V. Yanda, III, FFA Memorial Scholarship to a deserving Yukon High School graduating senior.

Mark Garrett
Funeral Director/Embalmer
Mark grew up and attended school in Pryor, Oklahoma graduating in 2000. He attended Rogers State University then later the University of Central Oklahoma. He received his Bachelor of Science Degree in Funeral Service in 2004. Mark has been a licensed Funeral Director and Embalmer for over 20 years. Mark moved to Yukon in 2012 where he currently resides with his wife and three children. Mark has a passion for serving his community in as many ways as he can. He enjoys exercising, fishing and taking trips to Branson with his family.
